Seventeen years of teaching adds up to a lot of dancers — and we're proud of every single one of them.

From Whitstable to vocational training

Over the years, a number of our students have gone on to win places at the country's top performing arts colleges — following the same path Kerry took when she trained at Laine Theatre Arts. Watching a dancer walk into a vocational audition with their technique solid and their nerves steady is one of the proudest moments this job offers.

And into professional work

Some past students have gone further still, into professional performing careers on stages around the country. Their training started in the same studios, on the same timetable, as every child who walks through our doors today.

The ones who didn't go pro matter just as much

Here's the truth: most of our past students didn't become professional dancers — and that was never the point. They became confident adults who can stand up in a room, present, perform, and cheer other people on. They carry their grades, their show memories and their friendships with them. That's the real legacy.
